Through the Girls Inc. Experience, our professionally trained staff provide mentorship, safe spaces, and programming that address the unique challenges girls face and help them succeed.
We cultivate safe environments where girls are encouraged to take risks, learn from experiences, and grow.
Advocacy
Girls Inc. of NYC works with and for girls and young women to advocate for policies to overcome the social and systemic barriers that threaten their ability to succeed.
Together, we advocate especially for the needs of girls and young women from low-income communities and those who may face discrimination because of their gender, race, religion, ethnicity, immigration status, disability, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Our Teen Leadership Circles empower and equip high school girls with the skills and knowledge to become confident, capable, and engaged leaders, who effect change in their communities.
We also align with Girls Inc.’s National Advocacy Platform which prioritizes:
- Sexual health, safety, and autonomy
- Equitable access to education
- Voting rights and civic education
- Mental health and wellbeing
